Today I'm Grateful for... šŸ§”

Hello Everyone. It's Irene here.Ā šŸ‘‹ Saying 2020 has been a testing year would be a gross understatement. Running a startup in the food/travel space and watching NYC and then the world shut down before my eyes were not exactly encouraging.But I was able to make the most of it because I had my health, and this Thanksgiving Iā€™m especially grateful for the health of family and friends. (Never mind for now Iā€™m looking ghostly pale from staying indoors so much.)šŸ½ļøļø Iā€™m grateful I got to check out some new restaurants in my area and support some of my favorites. Being part, albeit small, of one of the most dynamic hospitality communities in the world, Iā€™m inspired by many chefs, restaurateurs...

Mamakoo is 1-year-old today

We still vividly remember staying up all night preparing for our launch event at TechDay 2019, the largest startup event in the US. We were furiously adding more content, fixing bugs and praying that Apple wouldĀ pleaseĀ approve the app in time. We went live on the AppStore at 4:20am and it has been a blur ever since!

How it all began

Hello, Mamakoo community around the world! My name is Irene. šŸ‘‹ I grew up in sunny Los Angeles and was fortunate to have lived in New York, Seoul and Hong Kong for work. In 2016, I had a near-death experience. I thought to myself: Shoot, if I don't wake up after this operation, I would regret not having traveled around the world. By January 2017, I was fully recovered and set out solo.Ā
